Powder Room Beadboard--Complete!
Well, almost. We finished installing the bead board and trim in our vintage school room inspired powder room yesterday. It didn't take that long since it's such a small room. I'm so happy with it and now I'm excited to caulk, paint, and move on!And we are having so much fun with the chalkboard walls. We leave messasges for each other, sillly drawings, jokes, quotes, etc. And all our guests get in on the act. I love going in there and finding funny, sweet, or interesting thoughts and pictures from our friends and family!!
The lighting is terrible in that room and so the pictures didn't come out as I had hoped. I'll try again during our next sunny day! oh, you can see what we started with we started here.
Instead of coping and capping the ends, we just cut of the sharp corner at a 30 degree angle. I know it probably isn't the right way to do things but we are cool with doing it our way! |
Jim sanded the wood putty today and tomorrow evening I hope to caulk. |
I know we work slowly but I guess that's just our way. Little bits at a time so we aren't overwhelmed.
Next on the punch list:
Reglaze the sink to white
new faucet in oil rubbed bronze
hang artwork
change out toilet seat to white to match the toilet (ok, why would the previous owners have put on a beige seat on a white toilet anyway? It's not like white is a hard color to match.)
And I pried off some decorative metal scroll work that was on the vanity. I sanded the rough spots and I'll give that new paint too. I'd like to get a new one but they tiled around it so it's stuck there unless we want to retile which we don't. yet.
Hope you are having a great day! Molly starts kindergarten tomorrow and I'm beyond excited for her!
Cheers!
Jenny
