Toile Valentine's Day Pillow
Hi Friends! I was inspired this morning to get my Valentine's Day decorations ramped up a bit. Here is a pillow I came up with. It was a quick project with a little sewing and a glue gun, and it was just the right boredom buster for a free Saturday. Hope you likey!I am all about subtle holidays this year so I didn't add any hearts or other Valentine's Day symbols. But I love the red, cream, and black together and it feels romantic to me.
I was inspired to use those colors by the pillows I made last year, my Love Note Pillows. I really liked the contrast between the black writing and the red felt so I went up into my stash to see if I had anything that I could use. I had this toile fat quarter hanging around forever. I'm glad I saved it because I happen to adore this combo!
I didn't have enough of the toile to cover the back. So I used what I had left on the top and just a plain white cotton for the rest. That way you don't see the white at the top and it appears as if it is completely covered in toile. Instead of a regular envelope, I did what Potter Barn did for my shams and just created some ties with satin ribbon.
And then Jim came with the PHOTO BOMB. Nice. Sorry ladies, he's taken.
Are you watching The Goonies? I am. It's on right now and I just love this movie so I must leave you. Enjoy your weekend!
Cheers!
Jenny
