Fall Bunting, Craigslist score
I am so in the mood to decorate for fall! Aren't you? I got into the spirit today by making the easiest fall bunting ever. A few triangles of drop cloth, some twine, gold acrylic paint, and letter stencils were the supplies I used and it took me all of 20 minutes to make!
I had made the flower ages ago and never did anything with it. So I used a safety pin to fasten it to the twine in case I wanted to use it for a pillow or something. The procedure is simple. Cut out the triangles and iron flat. Fold over the top edge 1/2 inch and iron. Sew close to the ends to create a casing. Thread your twine through using a safety pin to pull it along. Stencil the letters on and done!
The other thing I can't wait to show you is our new dining room set! I have been looking for Queen Anne chairs for a while on Craigslist and found someone close by who was selling a table, 8 chairs, the leaves and pads, plus a large china cabinet and a smaller buffet. I emailed him asking if he would break up the set since I didn't want the cabinets. He refused saying he was trying to keep the set together. Fast forward 3 weeks and emails me! Did I still want the table and chairs because they are moving like, tomorrow, and they want it out! So off we went!
I offered him $150 but he felt $100 would be better since the chairs need to be reupholstered. So I got the table, 2 leaves, all the table pads, 6 side chairs, and 2 armchairs for 100 bucks. Score!! I am in love with my new set! I know it's very formal but that's my style. I really don't love country/casual and I want a dressed up dining room. Now I need to find a rug!
I hope you are all having a great week! Talk to you all soon!
Cheers!
Jenny
