Fall Mantel 2014
I finally got some of my summer decorations boxed up and grabbed a few fall-esque things to create a fall mantel!
I didn't go nuts but I still wanted to be a little festive. And I know it's not "balanced" or whatever but it all came out of the same box and (YAY!) I didn't need to prowl around in any other boxes in a dusty basement with spiders lurking so balanced can kiss my you know what!
We have yet to go pumpkin picking so when we do I'll add another to the middle and one to right side to make it look better. But for those of you who don't mind imperfection, here it is!
It says "Boo!" not "Bod" like everyone thinks it does. The traditional Halloween Bod? Wha? |
So fall is happening here in NJ. The leaves are turning,
the stink bugs are trying to get inside, and I had my yearly tradition
of buying a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks only to realize I really
don't like the pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks. Ellie's class went
apple picking and then ate cider donuts in a hayride wagon. It was so
cute!
Molly's birthday is at the end of this month so I have to work on
that. I'm thinking that instead of wrapping up her gifts (which are mostly
clothes) I'm just going to turn everything inside out and stuff it
under her bed. It will be my little gift to save her the trouble!
Motherhood is so wonderful, isn't it??
Cheers!

Your mantle is lovely! And I love your idea about stuffing clothes under the bed. I only wish I had thought of that about 30 years ago.............HA!!!
