Ellie's birthday is in June and I was wracking my brain trying to think of an idea for her birthday party. We have been through daisies, goldfish, butterflies, and Frozen. She adores painting and loves bright colors so when I found out about Tulip's One-Step Tie-Dye Kit I knew that a tie dye party was in order!

The One-Step Tie-Dye Kit by Tulip makes tie-dying so easy!  The kit not only included 18 different dyes but gloves, rubber bands, and plastic sheeting as well.  All I had to do was add water to the bottles, shake, and they were ready to use!

We used a screen underneath the shirts so the dye didn't pool under them but you see how to set up a tie-dye station on the video below!

The colors were so bright! I have tie-dyed before but don't recall the colors being this vibrant.

It was so fun to see how the colors blended together and the kids would ooh and ahh as new colors emerged!

I sent each child home with the tee shirt as her favor with instructions as to how to wash the shirts after the dye set for 6-8 hours. The directions were easy to download and print from Tulip's Tie-Dye Your Summer along with other party printables such as invitations, cupcake wrappers, banners, and these cute cupcake toppers!

To add to the colorful fun of the tie-dye party we also had other art stations set up.  The kids had a blast painting with shaving cream and creating an art gallery, playing with homemade play dough, and making beaded bracelets.  But the biggest hit by far was the tie-dye station!

We used colorful plates and gave out rainbow colored candy too!

I hope you enjoyed seeing Ellie's sweet and colorful tie-dye birthday party!  I also hope you'll visit Tulip's Tie-Dye Your Summer and get inspired to tie-dye your summer too!

  1. What a great idea for a party theme! I love your art stations. A couple summers ago, my kids used that tulip kit with their cousins and made some really fun shirts!
